The B250C BTC Mining Motherboard is a budget-focused 12-GPU mining platform that converts each PCIe 1x lane directly to a native USB 3.0 port, eliminating the need for separate riser adapter boards on the motherboard side. The 12 onboard USB 3.0 ports each carry a single PCIe 1x lane — plug a standard USB-3.0 powered riser cable directly into the board, connect a GPU at the other end, and you have a complete 1x-to-16x mining link.
Based on the Intel B250 chipset and LGA1151 socket, the board supports 6th and 7th Generation Intel Core processors (Skylake / Kaby Lake) — Pentium G3900, Celeron G3930, and similar low-TDP chips work best for mining since the CPU has minimal load during GPU mining. Two DDR4 DIMM slots support up to 32GB at 2133/2400/2666 MT/s. The board ships with mining mode enabled in the BIOS by default — power on, install drivers, and GPUs are detected automatically.
For Australian miners building cost-effective GPU rigs, the B250C is attractive because it consolidates the riser-adapter board into the motherboard itself — fewer connection points means fewer potential failure points. Drawbacks: the 6th/7th Gen Intel CPUs and DDR4 memory are now legacy parts, second-hand availability fluctuates, and the BIOS feature set is sparse compared to BIOSTAR TB360-BTC PRO 2.0. Build cost is typically lower than a TB360 build, but spare-part availability is the trade-off.
Storage includes 4 × SATA 6Gb/s, an mSATA slot, and onboard HDMI output for first-boot configuration. Power input requires ATX 24-pin + ATX 4-pin + a separate 6-pin auxiliary — make sure your PSU has all three available. The board has no native M.2 NVMe support; storage upgrades go via mSATA SSD or SATA 2.5" SSD. A licensed electrician should be consulted for dedicated mining-circuit installation in compliance with AS/NZS 3000:2018.
